Messiah CompleX - the MDCU Clickable Reading Order!

Hey comic fans, here’s a great story if you haven’t read it. It’s the tale about the return of hope to the mutant population, hope in the form of a baby mutant… I’d tell you more, but I don’t want to spoil anything for you if you haven’t read it yet.
The story takes place in the pages of Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, New X-Men, X-Factor and two one shot Messiah CompeX comic books.
Using the Marvel Unlimited web interface is a real pain, because you would really need to keep a tab open for each of the titles since (without this reading order) you find out at the end of each issue where to go next to continue reading the story.

There are some great reviews of the series, again big props to this guy Dave over at Comic Book Herald. He’s a master of breaking down these stories and how much of the historical (fictional history) canon fits into these kinds of crossovers.

Another interesting review is over at Weekly Comic Book Review. This is my first time to read anything by Roman Colombo, but I definitely will go back there.

Remember, don’t read the reviews, wikipedia entries or anything else if you haven’t read the series of comics yet! Enjoy the surprises and you will really get the most out of the books. Along that same line, be sure to avoid looking up characters as well, since there are some characters here that undergo massive changes in future series and you don’t want to ruin those for yourself either.

By the way, I started here (Messiah CompleX) because it’s a shorter crossover (13 issues) and limited in scale across just a few series. This is not where you start if you want to really get into the X-Men mythos since the 80s. I’ll get back to those other classics and put a reading order of reading orders together as it all comes together!
